Ahana completed her studies in Mumbai by attending Jamnabai Narsee School andMithibai College. From a young age, she trained in the Odissi dancing style of Indian classical dance under guru Rabindra Atibuddhi. She is an accomplished Odissi dancer having performed both in India & abroad, including at the famous Khajuraho Dance Festival. She also performs regularly at stage shows with her mother and sister.

She will be the fifth member from the Deol family to try her luck in Bollywood. Her elder step brothers Sunny and Bobby Deol have made a mark for themselves in the industry. Her cousin Abhay Deol has also impressed people with his acting skills. Let’s hope this Deol is also able to entertain like her talented parents.

Last year, she opened a store that stocks clothes designed by her, paintings and photographs by other artists and also edibles like jams, pastries and other gourmet products.
In 2007 there were reports that Ahana Deol was contemplating directing a film but that never materialised. But the Bollywood bug was lurking somewhere and has bitten her now.
If all goes well, Ahana Deol will star in Vikramaditya Motwane’s next. Rumour has it that Anurag Kashyap, who produced Motwane’s directorial debut Udaan, may produce this film as well. The modalities are now being worked out. It was selected to be her best launching pad in the film industry. However, things didn’t go as according to the plans. The movie is on hold now and no one is sure about when work for the movie will resume.
In spite of the setback, Ahana is going to appear in the big screen this year. She is a part of the yet to be named film, by famous director Aparna Sen. “Mr. & Mrs. Iyer”, “The Japanese Wife” and “36 Chowringhee Lane” are few of the memorable and acclaimed films of the director.
The movie is supposed to be a modern day take on the eternal love story of Romeo and Juliet. Prateik will play the role of Ahana’s Romeo. Hema Malini is producing the film and the shooting will begin in September, this year.
A very close friend of Ahana Deol’s told, “She is very close to Vikramaditya and his wife. Ahana Deol is going through the script now and yes, she has consented in principle to doing the role. The film has an ensemble cast.”
Motwane said, “Yes, I want Ahana on board. I have given her the script. She is reading it. Ahana has a very interesting face.”
